Sector Focus: Semiconductor Manufacturing

China Expanding Chip Production Capacity

Due the semiconductor industry’s importance, construction of new FABs is expected to occur regardless of economic conditions. China’s plan includes government support with a package that could amount to more than 1 trillion RMB ($143 billion USD).

Key strategies include:
Beijing is providing substantial financial support to domestic semiconductor companies and research institutes for technology innovation, including for  water treatment systems.Planning includes acquisitions of foreign technologies and know-how to accelerate its capabilities.

Beijing has set goals for domestic semiconductor production to meet 80% of China demand by 2030. This will require massive investment into increased production facilities that will all require advanced water treatment systems.
>25% Reduced Water Treatment CAPEX and OPEX
Semiconductor manufactures use Reverse Osmosis (RO) and other filtration systems to create Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) which is needed to rinse the silicon wafers in microchip production. The rinsing removes residues and other impurities that can render chips completely useless.
Reliable water treatment is a necessary business expense.

CDR will Increase Profits

The introduction of G-DECK CDR systems will increase profits and performance by lowering influent water demand and reducing wastewater streams and energy consumption.

The CDR systems will also produce near-zero wastewater streams, lowering the fees paid to dump waste streams into lakes and rivers and reducing pollution.

Sector Focus:Pharmaceuticals & Biotech

Sector Growth Means Increased Demand for Water Treatment

China's pharmaceutical industry is projected to reach 2.5 trillion RMB in 2023, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 7% from 2022 to 2025.

The industry’s potential growth, with the strong support of Beijing, ensures that billions of dollars will be invested to increase R&D and manufacturing capabilities.

Success will be impossible without reliable water treatment systems meeting the very specific needs of R&D and pharmaceutical production, ensuring significant capital investment in water treatment systems.

G-DECK’s CDR systems deliver increased reliability with reduced water demand and reduced energy costs, achieving lower overall operational costs.

Reducing the Cost of Ultra Pure Water

In the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, companies must use purified water for several processes, including injection, sterilization, analytical reagents, and hemodialysis. If the water contains impurities, the processes will be unsuccessful. The different processes require different levels of water quality. Usually, each facility will have its own reverse osmosis based treatment system.

G-DECK systems deliver all process Water Quality Types for pharmaceutical and biotechnology laboratories and manufacturing facilities at reduced costs.

Sector Focus: Electric Vehicle Manufacturing

Expanding Capacity will Require Water Treatment Systems

Electric Vehicle (EV) manufacturing has specific water needs, especially the production of lithium-ion batteries, which power most EVs. Water treatment processes include:

• Battery Production

• Metal Plating and Finishing

• Wastewater Treatment Plants

Demand for water treatment in China’s Electric Vehicle (EV) industry is expected to grow as the production of EVs continues to expand in China. This growth will increase the need for water treatment systems that are water and energy efficient.

G-DECK systems reduce water and energy needs, reducing costs and increasing profits compared to the RO systems that currently dominate the market.

Sector Focus:Industries Using Boilers

Meeting Energy Needs ay Lower Costs

G-DECK Will Reduce OPEX for Boiler Powered Industries.

  • Building Materials

  • Thermal Power Plants

  • Pulp & Paper Production

  • Steel Mills

  • Liquor producers

  • Electrochemical

  • Plastics Manufacturing

  • Automotive Industry

  • Petrochemical

Many industries require large amounts of energy. To reduce costs, they often use boilers to create the energy needed.  Micro filtration systems, including Reverse Osmosis, are usually used to remove impurities, including magnesium, calcium, and iron, to prevent damage to the boiler walls and turbines.

G-DECK’s lower CAPEX + lower OPEX systems

can deliver the required boiler feed water to industry, while producing near-zero waste streams.

Opportunity:Perchlorate Solutions

Perchlorate was added to the list of harmful chemicals under the 2022 Drinking Water Regulations.
Perchlorate is a potent thyroid hormone-disrupting compound. It occurs naturally, or can result from over chlorination in municipal water treatment and fireworks and explosives production and use. Perchlorate was added to China’s Drinking Water Standards regulation in 2022.

G-DECK systems can remove perchlorate from water to levels that exceed China’s drinking water standards.

Opportunity:Smart Cities and Science Parks

Healthy Drinking Water, Process Water, Near-Zero Wastewater
G-DECK can provide China’s High-Tech Parks and other newly developed industrial parks and science parks with treatment systems that simultaneously deliver water treated to agricultural, healthy drinking, and ultra-pure standards (or any other combination of treatment standards), to meet the specific demands of the project’s tenants, while providing long-term revenue streams for project management and meeting government policy objectives.

Industrial, Municipal, Residential

Industrial wastewater is a primary contributor to China’s water pollution. Traditional systems have failed. They are inefficient, unreliable and costly to operate.

G-DECK knows how to design and install new or retrofitted systems that will reduce industrial contaminant emissions to near-zero levels while reducing water usage and energy consumption.

Screenshot 2023-10-19 at 8.54.20 PM.png

China has over 3,500 wastewater treatment plants. Traditional 3-stage treatment systems permit toxic contaminants (perchlorate, NMDA) to enter drinking water distribution systems and reintroduce pollution back into the environment.

G-DECK knows how to retrofit existing municipal systems to destroy the harmful contaminants, improving water quality and cleaning the environment.

China’s housing market, like in many other countries, is experiencing a downturn. New homes with healthy drinking water will differentiate the properties and support sales.

G-DECK knows how to place small, cost effective, low energy systems that will ensure reliable flows of clean and healthy drinking water in newly constructed residential developments.

Government Policies Support

Market Growth for PRC Companies

Beijing seeks greater self-reliance in its semiconductor supply chain, which includes Ultra Pure Water (UPW) and wastewater treatment systems.

This effort includes the acquisition of advanced foreign technologies and know-how to accelerate the development of domestic UPW systems and services.

Through cooperation with Chinese water treatment companies and construction companies, the Institute can immediately begin providing CDR systems to industry.

The Institute model offers several activities to create revenues and assets, including engineering services, BOT & BOO systems, and engineer and operations training.
